We installed an automatic system as pilot project. The system controls lights and some appliances. Our aim is to bring an efficient system which reduces electrical bills and save money for our clients. The system comprises of solar arrays with an inverter and stand by generator.

We designed the system which is fully automatic and is grid tied, controlling the loads. During the day the power is from solar energy and when the demand is high more than what solar can generate, Eskom comes in automatically. When night time comes Eskom takes over automatically.

When there is power failure and the system can only switch on relevant loads and the generator can only start when there is no enough solar energy and during night power failures. We achieved this without pushing power back into the grid. This pilot project was a success and we are working flat out to find best ways to start helping our clients to go Green and make savings.
